How Our Online Catalog Works
Everything you need at a glance: searching the catalog, placing bids, registering, and managing your account.
Create a New Account
Good to know: you do not need to register in advance to use the online catalog and start collecting bids! You can get started right away and register only when you submit your bids (see the "Placing Bids" section).
If you'd still like to create an account ahead of time, here's how:
- Open the registration page (link above, or click "Register" in the top right of the homepage).
- Fill in the form with your personal details (name, address, email address, phone number).
- Choose a password and confirm the terms and conditions / terms of auction.
- Complete the registration. You'll usually receive a confirmation email — follow the link inside it to activate your account.
Logging In
Already-registered customers sign in here with their login details.
- Open the login page (link above, or click "Login" in the top right of any page).
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click "Log In" / "Sign In."
Searching the Catalog
Whether you're after a specific piece or simply browsing a collecting area, the search function helps you find the right lots quickly.
Quick Search
Click "Search" (top right). The quick-search field will appear. Enter one or two keywords and click the magnifying-glass icon. A list of matches per collecting area is shown first, followed by all lots that match your search. Click on an area in the results list to see only the matches from that area.
Advanced Search Options
Click "Advanced Search Options" below the quick-search field. An input form will appear where you can apply various filters to narrow down your search results.
Saving Searches
When viewing a search result, you'll find the "Save Search" button in the top left under "Search Results." Saved searches will then appear in your account (see "Saved Searches") — from there you can run them again at any time. You can also have matching results from future auctions emailed to you automatically.
Lot Sorting Order
Lots are sorted the same way as in the printed catalog, i.e. by catalog number. Collection lots, as well as any liquidation or rarity lots, are not placed in their own separate sections as in the printed catalog — instead they sit at the end of the individual lots for each respective area. For example, to find collections from the "Bund" area, go to the end of that area's listing. Alternatively, you can set a corresponding filter using the advanced search options.
Images & Gallery
If an image is available for a lot, it's shown at a small size in the lot overview. Clicking it opens a detail view with a larger image — here you can also print the lot description along with the image. Clicking the image again opens a gallery with an even larger view, which you can zoom in on further using the "+" icon at the top, a double-click, or your mouse wheel.
If a lot has multiple images (e.g. a certificate of authenticity, or for a collection), use the arrow keys at the top to navigate between them. Close the gallery using the "X" in the top right.
Placing Bids
You can pick as many lots as you like from the catalog and add them to your bid list — even without registering beforehand.
- Enter your bid in the field next to the "BID" button on the lot detail page, then click "BID." At this point, no bid is transmitted to us yet — the lot is simply added to your bid list.
- Use the "Bids" button (top right) at any time to see the contents of your bid list. There you can also change bids or remove lots again.
- You can keep browsing for more lots in the meantime — the system remembers your existing bids and displays them again whenever you open "Bids."
- Click "Submit Bids" to be taken from your bid list to the page requesting the customer information needed to process your order.
- Here you can optionally register with a password and your email address — your details will then already be filled in for future bids.
- Enter your address and, if you like, set a maximum total bid amount. A review page ("Confirmation") will then appear so you can check your details and bids once more.
- If everything is correct, click "Submit Bids Bindingly" — you have now placed a binding bid order.

My Account — Overview
Your personal account area brings together all the important functions in one place — you can also reach the sections below from here.
Checking & Editing Account Details
Here you can view and update your personal details — e.g. address, contact information, or payment details.
- Check that your address and phone number are up to date.
- Make any necessary changes and save them.
Viewing Your Bid History
Here you'll find an overview of all the bids you've placed in the past — including their status (e.g. active, outbid, won).
Watchlist
You can add lots of interest to a watchlist, which you'll be able to find again on your next visit. This only works if you're registered and logged in — that's the only way the system can recognize you.
- Open a lot's detail view. There (provided you're logged in) you'll find the "ADD TO WATCHLIST" button.
- Click it — the lot is then added to your watchlist.
- Access your watchlist via the "Watchlist" link (top center). It also shows you how many lots you've saved.
Saved Searches
If you've saved a search using the "Save Search" button (see "Searching the Catalog"), you can run it again here at any time, instead of entering your search criteria from scratch each time. You can also have matching results from future auctions emailed to you automatically for your saved searches.
Activating Live Bidding
Taking part in the real-time live auction often requires a separate activation step (e.g. for a credit check or verification).
- Open the "Live Bidding" menu item in your account.
- Follow the instructions there to complete the activation (e.g. confirmation, or providing additional details).
- Once activated, you can bid live during the ongoing auction.
Viewing Your Won Lots
After the auction, you'll find all the lots you've won here — including the hammer price, which forms the basis of your invoice.
